A car believed to be from a foreign embassy was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Bukit Panjang Road early on Tuesday, hitting three people at two different traffic junctions. –154th PHOTO
A CAR believed to be from a foreign embassy was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Bukit Panjang Road early on Tuesday, hitting three people at two different traffic junctions.
Police said that the car first hit two pedestrians who were crossing the junction of Bukit Panjang Road and Bangkit Road at about 3am.
Mr Tong Kok Wai, 30, and Mr Bong Hwee Haw, 24, suffered head injuries and were taken to the National University Hospital (NUH). Mr Tong is in the intensive care unit while Mr Bong is in a surgical high dependency ward.
Instead of stopping, the car continued on its path of destruction. Witnesses said it beat another red light 100m ahead at the cross-junction of Bukit Panjang Road and Pending Road.
There, it hit another pedestrian, Mr Muhamad Haris Abu Talib, 18, before speeding off.
Mr Haris was also taken to NUH with leg pain.

Embassy staff returned ard 1.30 am from some function but car is not used.
Car last seen at 2am. It is reported to be missing at time of accident. car normally driven by the ambassador or his chauffeur. ambassador always left one set of keys inside the car.
car was found abandoned in front of a building at sungei kadut.

Remembered tt when someone pass away, we nid to pay our respects by observing a minute of silence, but Mr Osgodby says tt in some countries, when someone pass away, they clap for 1 minute to show respects. So here i m clapping for one minute to pay my respects and to clap for all the things he had done to serve the world. I'll rmb him by all the wonderful things tt he had done. He's such a nice and funny guy who nvr fails to entertain us at work. A young friend has gone but not lost...his smiles and cheerfulness will stay wif us.
